Hi Chris,

I just wanted to thank you and drop you a quick mail with regard to my lesson on Friday,

Vincent was great, he explained fully before we went out what and how he would work on, and although the weather was less than predictable, we were calmed out at least once. On Friday I actually go to get wet and fly my kite.

I have to admit, I was nervous, having previously face planted myself I was wary to say the least of the kite, in fact maybe up to 10 minutes into the lesson I was doubting as to whether I would ever get the hang of controlling the thing, then somehow something seemed to click, Vincent's "clutch point" made so much sense, i really felt like I was in control and within 20 minutes I was body dragging down wind then again back up wind, it was amazing, I really felt in charge of the kite.

I went down to the beach today to say hi to the guys and to thank Vincent again, (the wind was not good on the forecast but I could not resist packing my gear into the car) when I told Mel that I had she pretty much guilted me into at least setting up, had it not been for her my gear would have stayed in the boot for sure.

The wind changed and knowing that Mel and Vincent were around I felt OK in going for it.

I felt confident enough to set up, and take myself out into the water to body drag again, I felt totally in control of the kite, water launched it when it crashed no worries.

I have had lessons before but the progress from just over an hour with Vincent has been amazing, he really is an awesome teacher.

Thanks Chris to you and the team, I am hooked again for sure.

One of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Kristin Boese, kiteboarding world champion and undoubtably one of the most influencial people in driving kiteboarding to the female population ran her KB4Girls clinic in Melbourne earlier this year.

A fantastic event which Kite Republic got behind 100%. Can't wait to see the girls out there with Kristin again next year!

Dear Chris and the guys at Kite Republic,

Thank you so much for the work that you put in organising the day at St Kilda pier on Australia Day.  You are all to be congratulated for the professional but relaxed way that the day was put together.  It was great to watch, especially the freestyle kite competition.

On behalf of Earthcare St Kilda I would like to thank you for the money which your organisation has raised and donated to Earthcare St Kilda.  It will be put to good use in one of the many projects which we are currently undertaking to improve the local marine and land environment.

If at any time you would like to find out more about the work of Earthcare St Kilda (e.g. If you would like to come out with our Penguin Research Team one night), please don't hesitate to contact me by email or by phone on the number below.

Once again, on behalf of Earthcare St Kilda, thank you very much for your support.
